Education Support: CWP Allocates Funds for Renovation and Equipping of Elementary School in Salaš near Zaječar

CWP Europe, a leading company in the development of renewable energy projects, has donated school equipment and funds for the renovation of carpentry at the “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” Elementary School in Salaš near Zaječar, where the Solarina solar park is being developed. With the aim of improving the conditions in which the youngest students learn and acquire new knowledge, CWP has once again allocated funds for this community, ensuring new windows and school equipment. In addition to replacing 13 windows and a set of doors in the school building, which will significantly enhance the energy efficiency of the facility, the company has donated balls for physical education classes, table tennis tables, boards, a printer, scanner, curtains for classrooms, and other office supplies to enhance the learning experience for the students.

“The positive impact on the communities where we develop renewable energy projects is one of the central values of our company. We always strive to contribute to the improvement of people’s lives in the areas where we operate through project development. This donation is intended to support the youngest residents of Salaš and surrounding areas attending this elementary school, believing that investing in children is an investment in the future of all of us. The values we build at CWP – primarily the belief that the greatest success results from the work of people with vision and a goal for the common good – are shared through CSR activities with representatives of cities, municipalities, and villages with whom we have daily contact in the course of our work, and it always fills each of us with immense joy,” stated Jovanka Atanacković, Country Manager Serbia at CWP Europe.

CWP’s commitment to the youngest members of this community is also evident in the organization of the “Eco Academy” ecological workshop for children from preschool age to the fourth grade. Approximately 60 students underwent an educational and experiential program, introducing them to environmental topics with an emphasis on understanding the importance of being in nature and strengthening their connection with it. After completing the workshop, all participants received gifts such as eco-friendly bags, books, water bottles, and “Eco Academy” diplomas.

In addition to ecological initiatives, the company has launched a project involving creative workshops in acting, music, and painting for children. Throughout the first semester, workshops in these artistic disciplines were held every Saturday in the school premises, with the possibility of continuing the project into the second semester. The New Year holidays last year were marked by the play “Toy Strike” and the distribution of gifts, and on December 26th this year, another gift-giving event took place, accompanied by a performance featuring the children as the main actors. On this occasion, the “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” Elementary School awarded CWP – Solarina a certificate of appreciation for its contribution to the development of the school’s educational and upbringing quality.
